PM Drew meets Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, highlights relations between nations

Dr. Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts & Nevis and  Adel Al Jubier, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs met on Wednesday. Citing the "fruitful discussion," he highlighted the close diplomatic relations between the two nations.

St Kitts and Nevis: Dr. Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts & Nevis and  Adel Al Jubier, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs met on Wednesday. Citing the “fruitful discussion,” he highlighted the close diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The two nations were able to exchange educational opportunities as a result of the summit. Scholarships to study in Saudi Arabia have been obtained by St. Kitts and Nevis. “I have also secured scholarships for our students to study in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” declared Prime Minister Drew.

Later this year, scholarships will be offered, signifying the strong ties that exist between the two nations.

PM Drew met and conversed with a number of diplomatic officials throughout the conference, covering a wide range of topics including energy, food security, climate change, sustainable development, and the financial industry.

The efforts and strategies for enhancing the two nations’ cooperation and partnership were also covered at the prime minister’s meeting with the Saudi Arabian delegation. They provided insight on a number of industry factors, including resilience, energy, and economic diversification.

In addition, discussed the plan to establish St. Kitts and Nevis as a Sustainable Island State. According to him, the conversation demonstrated the Federation and Saudi Arabia’s close collaboration and opened up new avenues for trade and investment.

“We are appreciative of Saudi Arabia’s cooperation in transforming our energy sector for the benefit of economic transformation, sustainability, and climate resilience,” he declared.

In addition, First Lady Diani Prince Drew, the spouse of PM Drew, attended the Menstrual Hygiene Initiative, which was organized by First Lady Arya Ali of Guyana. The Umana Yana in Kingston, Georgetown served as the venue for the celebration on Monday.

The Menstrual Hygiene Initiative, which was launched in September 2021 and is supported by the Office of the First Lady of Guyana, aims to end period poverty in the area. With a focus on inclusivity and dignity, Arya Ali’s objective seeks to guarantee that every girl has access to basic menstrual hygiene supplies.

First Lady Ali made a substantial contribution to the advancement of thousands of women and girls, and PM Terrance Drew expressed gratitude for this. According to him, this is the ideal forum for ensuring women’s protection and safety in society.

The purpose of the 46th CARICOM Meeting is to highlight the close relationships among the member nations and to bolster efforts toward working together on a number of development-related issues.
