Imnetu, who holds Swedish nationality and is currently based in Dubai, was visiting London on business.

He serves as the head chef at The Brasserie in The Arts Club Dubai and has an impressive resume that includes stints at prestigious London venues such as Oblix at The Shard and The Savoy Grill. Additionally, he has trained under renowned chefs like Alain Ducasse, Gordon Ramsay, and Marcus Wareing.

The Metropolitan Police have arrested a 31-year-old man from Newham on suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect is currently in custody at a South London police station. Police have launched an appeal for information to piece together the events leading up to the assault.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, from the Met’s Homicide Command, stated that investigators are trying to trace Imnetu’s movements from 1pm, when he left The Arts Club in Mayfair, to 10:30pm, when he was found at the Dr Power restaurant in Queensway.

Authorities are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area between 10pm and 11:30pm on Monday or who might have captured images or videos of the incident. Imnetu’s photos have been released in an effort to jog the public’s memory and aid the ongoing investigation.

Witnesses at the scene reported that attempts were made by patrons to intervene during the attack. The police are urging anyone who might have seen the attack or has any relevant information to come forward.

The incident occurred amidst a busy day at the Notting Hill Carnival, where police reported 230 arrests and five stabbings, two of which left victims in life-threatening conditions.

The Arts Club Dubai has declined to comment on the situation, focusing instead on supporting Imnetu’s family through this challenging time.

As the investigation continues, the Metropolitan Police are keen to gather more details to understand the circumstances surrounding this violent attack. The community’s cooperation remains crucial as authorities seek to ensure justice and provide answers for Imnetu and his loved ones.
