On Sunday, Fujairah Police announced that the camp owner and participants were taken into custody after engaging in reckless actions while marking the country’s 53rd National Day. The police issued a statement via their official Instagram account, explaining that the individuals celebrated “in an improper way.”

The use of party sprays, a banned activity in public celebrations, was a central element in the arrests.

The sprays, which are often used for decorative purposes at parties and events, have been discouraged by the Ministry of Interior due to safety concerns, particularly for their potential to cause harm or distraction.

In addition to the arrests linked to the camp celebration, authorities also apprehended a number of reckless drivers in the Al Faqit area of Fujairah.

The drivers were reportedly engaging in dangerous driving behavior, further violating safety protocols put in place for the National Day festivities. According to the police, such acts are taken seriously, as they pose a risk to both the drivers and the public.

The arrests come in the wake of the UAE Ministry of Interior’s announcement of a set of guidelines for National Day celebrations. Last month, the Ministry issued 14 rules to help ensure safety and order during the celebrations.

Among the key points, the Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and avoiding public marches or gatherings that are not officially organized.

Furthermore, it was made clear that the use of party sprays by drivers, passengers, or pedestrians is strictly prohibited.

This guidance is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to maintain safety and order during public holidays and celebrations, ensuring that residents can enjoy the festivities responsibly.

The authorities have also called on the public to cooperate with police instructions, as well as to report any activities that may jeopardize public safety.

The incident serves as a reminder to the public of the importance of celebrating in a manner that aligns with the country’s laws and regulations.

Celebrations should reflect the spirit of the occasion while keeping the well-being of everyone in mind. Following the arrests, Fujairah Police have urged the public to be vigilant and respectful of the rules, particularly as the holiday season continues.

With National Day festivities drawing to a close, it is expected that law enforcement will continue to monitor events to ensure the safety of all involved.

Residents and visitors alike are reminded to celebrate in ways that honor the nation while upholding the laws that protect the community.
