Sharjah Traffic Marshal Wins Hearts with Dance Moves While Managing School Rush

While his dance moves bring joy, Brilliant takes his traffic management responsibilities seriously. Recognizing the dangers posed by reckless drivers near schools, he proactively approached the school principal to discuss a creative way to enhance safety

Sharjah – Ebai Brilliant has turned traffic management into a daily spectacle, captivating parents, students, and passersby with his electrifying dance moves while directing vehicles outside Wesgreen International School.

The 26-year-old traffic marshal, originally from Cameroon, has gained widespread admiration for transforming a routine task into an entertaining and engaging performance.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Brilliant revealed his motivation behind his unique approach. “What inspired me is that I often see parents and children with glum faces in the morning. I wanted to bring a smile to their faces and brighten their day by spreading joy,” he said.

“Managing traffic isn’t easy; I can’t stop anyone from going where they need to, but through my work, they see me, and I hope to make a difference.”

Brilliant’s innovative traffic control style has sparked overwhelming support from both the school and the broader community.

Social media pages of Wesgreen International School have been flooded with praise, with parents and students expressing their appreciation for his energy and enthusiasm.

“The post on the school’s Instagram has gone viral, and the comments below it are full of praise, with everyone expressing how much they love him in the mornings,” said Revelino Fernandes, Manager of School Operations at Wesgreen International School.

“We have an International Day event on Saturday, and parents have specifically requested his presence.” Brilliant, who has been in the UAE for only six months, learned to dance as a child in Cameroon.

His signature moves, accompanied by music through his earphones, have become a highlight for schoolchildren.

Some even request their parents to take the service road just to see him in action. “On the days the children don’t see me, they become curious about my whereabouts. They even ask the security about me,” he added.

While his dance moves bring joy, Brilliant takes his traffic management responsibilities seriously. Recognizing the dangers posed by reckless drivers near schools, he proactively approached the school principal to discuss a creative way to enhance safety.

“Managing traffic is extremely risky; some drivers speed and drive recklessly, often stopping with little distance to spare. With so many children around, I feel a strong responsibility to protect them,” he said.

“My vision is to ensure the safety of schoolchildren and pedestrians alike, and I am committed to protecting them at all costs.”

Brilliant’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. The school principal, James McDonald, acknowledged his dedication and positive impact on the school community.

“His dance moves, seamlessly integrated into his traffic control duties, have made him a beloved figure at GEMS Wesgreen. Before incorporating dance into his routine, Brilliant often went unnoticed. Now, his lively approach not only captures attention but also ensures that cars move efficiently during drop-off times.”

Brilliant credits his company, colleagues, and family for their unwavering support, emphasizing the importance of creativity in everyday roles.

“My parents have also been appreciative of my work. I make sure to maintain order and follow the rules, not allowing anyone to create disruptions,” he said.

With his infectious energy and commitment to safety, Brilliant has proven that even the most routine jobs can be transformed into something extraordinary.

As Sharjah’s dancing traffic marshal, he continues to inspire a community to embrace positivity and innovation in everyday life.
