Dubai: Four Chinese kidnap and assaults man to recover their stolen money

Four Chinese people, including a woman who kidnapped and assaulted a fellow mate due to a financial dispute with him, are now facing trial and under probe by the Dubai public prosecution.

The group of four has been accused of attacking the victim. They took his pictures and sent his images filled with blood to his girlfriend to pressure him to pay them a total of Dh300,000. The kidnap occurred because they believed that he had stolen the amount from a villa located in the Al Barsha area.

As per the police investigation, another Chinese man informed the Al Barsha police regarding the kidnap and assault of his brother.

As the police got the information, they immediately formed a team of CID officers to carry out the search for the man and investigate the issue. The officers were able to locate the villa where the victim was kept and raided the whole place.

They found the victim with his hands tied to a chair and were being guarded by two other men so that he could not move from his place.

During the police interrogation, the victim disclosed that his friend stole Dh300,000 where he was held.

The two accused, who were detained during the raid and two other, who has been identified as Afel and his wife, kidnapped the victim and assaulted him to pressure him to return the money stolen.

The two arrested suspects also confessed to kidnapping and assaulting the man in order to help Alef and his wife to get their looted money back.

The two worked with Afel, who plays online gambling, and he paid them Dh5,000 each as a monthly salary.

The police referred the two suspects to public prosecution and also launched a search to arrest the first accused, Afel and his wife.
