A man was apprehended for attempting to steal three air conditioners worth Dh 48,000 from a popular pizza restaurant in Dubai.

United Arab Emirates: A man was apprehended for attempting to steal three air conditioners worth Dh 48,000 from a popular pizza restaurant in Dubai.

The details of the case date back to the previous March. The man asked four of his employees to go to the top of the building where the restaurant was located, on Salah Al Din Street in the Al Muraqqabat area in Dubai, and take the air conditioners.

He told them to bring them to his workshop for maintenance.

In addition, when the manager of the restaurant asked the workers what they were doing, they shared the information that they were maintenance workers working for the convict, as well as that he had asked them to disassemble the air conditioners.

The manager informed his supervisor, who shared the information with him that there was a maintenance workshop at the restaurant’s headquarters. The manager told the police officials.

Two of the workers fled as well as two remained at the site.

As per the case file, the workers stated that the convict asked them to bring him the air conditioners. He has been sentenced to one month in jail.

Moreover, the workers were informed that a person who worked as an air conditioning technician asked them to go to a building where a pizza restaurant was located as well as bring three machines for maintenance in his workshop, so the convict was summoned, but he denied knowing the workers or about the theft.
