Dubai RTA Launches 79th Online Auction for Exclusive Number Plates Featuring 350 Unique Plates

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced its 79th online auction, offering 350 exclusive number plates for private vehicles, classic cars, and motorcycles. The upcoming auction features a wide selection of distinctive three, four, and five-digit combinations, spanning plates bearing codes from H through Z.

The auction is set to attract car enthusiasts and collectors alike, with plates categorized under the letters H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z. This diverse offering provides ample opportunities for bidders to secure rare and personalized number plates, a sought-after status symbol in Dubai’s vehicle scene.

Registration for the auction will open on Monday, May 19, 2025, and remain available for five days only. The actual auction event will go live on Monday, May 26, 2025, allowing registered bidders to compete for their preferred number plates online.

It is important to note that all sales are subject to a 5 percent Value Added Tax (VAT), in accordance with UAE tax regulations.

To participate in the auction, bidders must hold a valid traffic file in the Emirate of Dubai and submit a security cheque amounting to Dh5,000 payable to the RTA.

Additionally, a non-refundable participation fee of Dh120 must be paid. The RTA has provided multiple payment channels to facilitate this process, including Customer Happiness Centres located in Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Deira, as well as an option to pay via credit card on the RTA’s official website.

Following the auction, successful bidders are required to complete payment within 10 working days from the closing date of the event.

Payment methods are structured to accommodate different transaction sizes: cash payments are accepted for amounts up to Dh50,000, while certified cheques or credit card payments must be used for transactions exceeding that threshold.

Payments can be completed at authorised service provider centres, Customer Happiness Centres, or through the RTA’s online platform.
