As Dubai gears up for a spectacular New Year’s Eve celebration, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued a heads-up to public bus users, announcing the temporary suspension of several services during the festivities.

The move is part of the RTA’s strategy to streamline transportation and ensure a smooth experience for residents and visitors alike.

Starting from 3:30 pm on Sunday, December 31, and extending until 6 am the following day, January 1, a total of 25 bus routes will be temporarily suspended.

This measure is anticipated to accommodate the increased demand for alternative modes of transportation during the New Year’s Eve celebrations across the city.

While some bus services take a brief hiatus, the RTA is leaving no commuter stranded, especially those planning to witness the breathtaking NYE fireworks.

To guarantee seamless travel options, both the Dubai Metro and Tram will operate non-stop for an impressive 40 hours. The non-stop service kicks off at 8 am on December 31 and continues until the end of January 1 for the Metro.

Similarly, the Tram will run continuously from 9 am on December 31 until 1 am on January 2, ensuring round-the-clock accessibility for revellers and commuters alike.

In an effort to further alleviate potential transportation challenges, the RTA has introduced a fleet of 230 buses that will be at the public’s disposal free of charge on New Year’s Eve.

This strategic move aims to minimize traffic congestion, providing an additional layer of convenience for those navigating the city during the celebratory period.

The decision to suspend certain bus services is a calculated one, with the RTA focusing on optimizing overall transportation efficiency during this high-demand period.

By temporarily redirecting resources and bolstering alternative modes of transportation, the authority aims to enhance the overall experience for residents and visitors partaking in the festivities.

Dubai’s New Year’s Eve celebrations are renowned for their grandeur, attracting a diverse audience from around the globe.

With iconic landmarks serving as the backdrop for breathtaking fireworks displays, ensuring a hassle-free and efficient transportation system is paramount.

As the clock ticks down to midnight on December 31, Dubai residents and visitors can rest assured that the RTA has implemented comprehensive measures to guarantee a smooth transit experience.

Whether opting for the continuous service of the Dubai Metro and Tram or taking advantage of the additional buses deployed for free public use, the transportation options available reflect the city’s commitment to providing a memorable and stress-free New Year’s Eve celebration for all.
