Egypt: Health Ministry announces the daily report of ‘100 Days of Health’ campaign

Cairo, Egypt: Dr Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, announced that 160 thousand and 408 services, within presidential initiatives and all medical, therapeutic, preventive specialities and family planning, through the ‘100 Days of Health’ campaign yesterday, Friday, August 25, in all governorates of the Republic.

As per the official update by the government, Dr Hossam Abdul Ghaffar, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the services provided by the 100 Days of Health campaign included 6 thousand 441 services as part of the president’s initiative to support women’s health – on the first visit – in which occasional and recurring visits reached 17 thousand and 362 services.

Abdul Ghaffar added that the «100 Health» campaign provided the services of the President’s Initiative for Early Detection, Treatment of Diseases and Hearing Loss in Newborns to 921 children, out of which it provided 21 thousand 45 services under the President’s Initiative for Early Detection and Treatment of Chronic Diseases and Kidney Disease.

Abdul Ghaffar further indicated that the campaign provided 281 services, including the Presidential Initiative for Maternal and Fetal Health, and 375 services for extracting certificates of the President’s Initiative for the examination of prospective marriage, and treatment decisions were issued at state expense for 5 thousand and 704 citizens.

Ghaffar said that the «100 Days of Health» campaign provided the services of the President’s initiative to examine cancerous tumours (prostate – colon – lung – cervix), filling 8 thousand and 753 questionnaires, adding that the total number of people who attended medical caravans reached 5 thousand and 295 citizens.

He continued that the number of beneficiaries from the services of family planning clinics reached 12 thousand and 525 beneficiaries, home visits to rural women reached 27 thousand and 635 visits, and the rates of vaccination for children with routine vaccinations reached 54 thousand and 71 children.

Abdul Ghaffar added that the 100 Days of Health campaign has provided awareness and health education services to about 47 thousand and 400 citizens through community communication teams spread in public areas, clubs and malls in governorates to raise awareness and direct citizens to receive the services of the public health initiatives provided by the campaign, with educational seminars and awareness activities.

He called on all citizens to go to the headquarters to provide campaign services, and locations for the concentration of mobile clinics, to avail their services, or to request home visits for patients from the elderly and those unable to move via the hotline 15335.
