A joint meeting between the oil and electricity ministry took place and held discussions on the provision of the needs of natural gas and fuel power plants today on February 4, 2022.

Cairo, Egypt: A joint meeting between the oil and electricity ministry took place and held discussions on the provision of the needs of natural gas and fuel power plants today on February 4, 2022.

Engineer Tariq Al-Mulla, the Minister of Oil & Mineral Wealth, Dr Mohamed Shaker, the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, held a conjoined meeting including officials of the oil and electricity sector, where during the meeting, research was conducted to ensure the needs of electricity generating plants at the Republic level of medical gas Help and liquid fuels during the coming period to make sure the sustainability of the state of stability that is witnessed in the energy sector in Egypt.

During the meeting, the developments witnessed by the global energy markets and the strategies of expanding the use of new and renewable energy in the light of these variables and the increasing global attention to the use of clean energy that restricts carbon emissions from fossil fuels were also discussed.

In the meet, both of the ministers also clarified that there is complete coordination between the two ministries regarding the increase of renewable energy components such as – solar and wind in the combination of energy in the light of the integrated and sustainable energy strategy that has been put in place until 2035, which depends on several axes of the most significant use for available power sources and diversification of electrical power production sources.

With maximizing utilization of the renewable energy sources, energy guidance and improving their efficiency, ministers agreed to continuously update this strategy to keep up with the variables seen by global and local energy markets and work to increase reliance on renewable energy in electricity generation as an alternative to natural gas, which contributes to the optimal economic exploitation of Egypt resources, especially natural gas.
