Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education Visits South Sudan

Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Egypt’s Higher education Minister, visited South Sudan recently. Here, he met with the education minister of South Sudan, Gabriel Changson Chang. Both the Leaders discuss ways to enhance bilateral partnership as well as cooperation in  the educational sector.

Juba: Mohammed Ayman Ashour, Egypt’s Higher education Minister, visited South Sudan recently. Here, he met with the education minister of South Sudan, Gabriel Changson Chang. Both the Leaders discuss ways to enhance bilateral partnership as well as cooperation in the educational sector.

Mohammed Ashour , reaffirmed that Egypt is determined to provide all kinds of assistance to South Sudan, especially in the educational sector. The meeting also discussed increasing research on cooperation among both countries.

At the opening of the meeting, the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education said that Egypt is paying special attention to countries of Africa. However, Special attention is being given to countries of the Nile Basin. He ensures his South Sudanese counterpart about the full support of Egypt to Sudanese students studying in Egypt.

He also pointed towards the active cooperation between the top universities of Egypt and South Sudan. This cooperation will benefit the students of both countries in the fields of training, research, capacity building, etc.

Egyptian Minister also underscored the executive program signed between both countries. This program was aimed to engage the professors and researchers of the Egyptian universities in Sudan to conduct joint applied research. The executive program also includes the provision of scholarships for the students of South Sudan.

The scholarship which is being provided to South Sudan Students is available for graduate and postgraduate courses.

On the other hand, the education minister of South Sudan appreciated the progress of the Egyptian education sector. He praised the role of the Egyptian president, Fattah Sisi, for upgrading the level of the country’s education sector. He said that the Students of South Sudan are benefiting in any way with the assistance of Egypt. He said that relations between both countries will become strong in future.

It is worth mentioning that 400 scholarship was provided by Egypt to South Sudan’s student. It includes the 300 universities and 100 graduate scholarships
