Gurdip “Dev” Bath procure 1 container of ham & 1 container of turkey for St Kitts and Nevis

St Kitts and Nevis: Gurdip “Dev” Bath– Special Representative of St Kitts and Nevis made available special aid of 1 container of hams and 1 container of turkeys in the festival season.

The donation ahead of festival season nourished the lives of hundreds of citizens in the twin-island Federation.

Not only this, but along with his associates, Bath also procured a donation of Christmas toys for the children.

The donation of hams and turkeys was unloaded by a team of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), which is headed by Abdias Samuel.

With the motive to push St Kitts and Nevis COVID-19 response, Bath managed to gather the procurement, packaging, shipping and clearing of a 40 ft container of dry foods granted by Pacious Pte Ltd and administered through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) earlier this month.

Chairperson of the National COVID-19 Task Force and head of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Abdias Samuel, on receiving the donation, stated, “On behalf of St Kitts and Nevis government and its people, I wholeheartedly appreciate and pay my regards to Mr Gurdip Bath for the making the donations available,”

“As the nation is going through challenging times, this donation provided by Mr Bath along with his associates was a much-needed one at the present times, as St Kitts and Nevis battles with the COVID-19 virus,” Samuel added while citing Bath as a benevolent person.

The Department of Community Development and Social Services then further disseminated the helping out numerous organizations and institutions across the twin-island Federation.

Gurdip “Dev” Bath continue to serve his duties as a special representative of St Kitts and Nevis. He had been managing to gather donations every year, bringing smiles to the faces of people and children every year ahead of Christmas. 

Bath not only helped St Kitts and Nevis but assisted the region as a whole. With his efforts, many countries in the Caribbean secured COVID-19 vaccines at a time when the doses were not very readily available. Countries such as Saint Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Barbados, Suriname also received Oxford Astrazeneca vaccines manufactured by the Serum Institute of India (SII), which is the most prominent vaccine producer in the world. Gurdip Dev Bath’s significant efforts helped these island nations procure life-saving vaccines. Many of these Caribbean island countries kickstarted their vaccination campaign with doses from India in 2021.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped the region in ensuring their food safety and delivered food containers to some nations. Notably, earlier donations of food totaled more than 52,000 pounds and cost more than $56,000. These products included rice, pasta, canned baked beans, canned tuna, mayonnaise, cereals, and macaroni and cheese.
