Katara celebrates German language during European Language Activities

Katara Cultural Village, with the collaboration of the Katra Centre for Public Diplomacy, the European Union mission in Qatar and the German Embassy to Qatar on 3rd November 2023, organized a German language event. This event on the German language was part of the “European Language activities”.

This event on the German language was part of the “European Language activities”. These activities on the European languge were launched in the month of may 2023.

The event was held in Katara Cultural Village at Katara Building 15 on 3rd November, 2023. The objective of the European language activities is to promote the European language and highlight the importance of these languages. Many cultural activities and events were part of German language events.

Educational activities and visual art performances were displayed by  academics, teachers, and students of schools and colleges that participated in eventr

All of the activities aimed to focus on the German language and different ways and means of learning the German language. At the event, the importance of music in learning of  any language was also discussed.

The key speaker also underscored that music, which plays an important role in learning German music, tells us about German culture and ways to master the German language. During the event, many unique characteristics of the German language were highlighted. It was also discussed that the distinctive features of the German language would help in keeping pace with modern developments and close interconnection with Arab culture.

It is to be specifically mentioned that in the month of May 2023, katara launched the European Language Day activities with the collaboration of the European Union in Doha and members of the embassies of the five European countries in Qatar. These five countries included Spain, Greece, Italy, Portugal and Sweden.

The European language activities event also has the potential to open cultural and civilization windows for the introduction of the renowned cultural and linguistic diversity of Europe in Qatar.

The officials of the German got the opportunity to display various activities that included practical workshops and theoretical lectures on German and other European languages.
