For several years, Shahid Afridi entertained us with his extraordinary cricketing skills. Now, the ex all-rounder will do that with his culinary ones.

Afridi, who is 46 years old, is going to open his own restaurant in Dubai in which he will offer authentic Pakistani food. He mocked an Instagram video of himself in a chef’s apron, tossing and slicing tomatoes on Tuesday.

According to his own statement, he stated that he is one step closer to making the big announcement and the dashing cricketer who currently plays for the ‘Quetta Gladiators’.

Afridi posts his picture with a caption, “Get ready to give your taste buds a mouthwatering triple Tarka”, along with using hashtags of his restaurant name #LalaDarbar.

Afridi is called Lala for the uninitiated, the Pashtun word for elder brother.

However, the details of the location and menu of the restaurant’s have not been revealed yet.

Not only the skincare line called “Ooh Lala“, but Afridi also owns the clothing brand known as “Hope Not Out”, which has leisurewear for men and women.

Moreover, Afridi’s retired teammates Inzamam Ul Haq, Saeed Anwar and Shoaib Malik also run successful food ventures in Dubai.

Haq and Anwar are meat store owners called “Meat One while Malik” and his wife, tennis star Sania Mirza, run the Sthan restaurant.

Apart from participating recently Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League, Afridi is very active on Instagram.

This is not the first time Afridi is dropping his toes in the puddle of businesses.

He already owns a chain of restaurants in Lahore under the name “Splice”. The cricketer also runs a clothing and skincare line. The Ooh Lala is a high-end line with high-quality personal care products. And Hope Not Out apparel line sells men’s and women’s leisurewear.
