Saint Lucia: Deputy PM Ernest Hilaire meets Peter (Chia-Yen) Chen, concludes a training program

Castries, Saint Lucia: Ernest Hilaire, Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, met with Peter (Chia-Yen) Chen, the ambassador of the Embassy of the Taiwan (Republic of China) and Taiwan International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF), where they concluded a training program for Storytellers, earlier this week.

Deputy Prime Minister Hilaire took his official social media account to talk about his previous meeting with Peter Chen, Chinese ambassador to Saint Lucia and ICDF. In addition, he also mentioned that the meeting was focused on concluding training programs and enhancing experiences in the local communities of Saint Lucia for storytellers.

As per the update, Deputy PM and Minister of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information Ernest Hilaire has also confirmed that the concluded training program also presented its findings along with observations to the staff of the Ministry.

“The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Industries along with International Cooperation Development Fund (ICDF) along with other stakeholders of the community were held responsible for putting together the training program for our storytellers,” Hilaire noted in his remarks.

Furthermore, it was conveyed by the reports that the ICDF and Ministry of Tourism, under the supervision of the Deputy PM of Saint Lucia, conducted the workshop for storytellers smoothly, providing a better experience to the local communities of the nation.

Moreover, Minister of Tourism and Creative Industries Ernest Hilaire noted that the launched training program was scheduled to be conducted in majorly two phases, one of which is currently running from January 25th and will end on February 1st. In the end, “Phase 2 (two) of the training workshop will be organized in May 2023,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
