PM Philip J Pierre lauds Saint Lucians for engagement in Jazz and Arts Festival

Castries East, Saint Lucia: Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Philip J Pierre has extended warm greetings to the viewers of the Saint Lucia Jazz and Art Festival held at Mindoo Phillip Park. 

He emphasized and lauded the security arrangements organized by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLP) at the venue, which made sure the safety of the people of Saint Lucians.

According to the latest updates, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre took to his official social media handle to express his pride and gratitude towards the organizing authorities of Saint Lucia Jazz and Art Festival 2023.

While sharing the update, he noted in his Facebook caption, “I had the honour to welcome patrons to the official opening of the Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival in my constituency, Castries East. Congratulations.”

Furthermore, through his social media post, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre also expressed his heartiest appreciation to the Deputy Prime Minister, who also serves as the Minister of Tourism of Saint Lucia Ernest Hilaire, for pulling off such a national-level event in the country.

In this regard, he said, “To the Minister for Tourism and his staff for executing such an epic return!”

Prime Minister further stressed that “Over the next week, let us continue to have incident-free events so that we all can bask in the glory of the rebuilding of our world-class event. 

The economic spin-offs during this time will redound to ordinary people, and I look forward to celebrating our success.”

Additionally, on his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information Ernest Hilaire also shared his delight regarding the ongoing Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival.

In his remarks, Deputy Prime Minister shared his heartiest cheerfulness and pleasure through his official social media account, where he noted, “As I reflect on the first weekend of events in the Saint Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival, it was really heart-warming to see the participation and turnout of Saint Lucians at the various events.”

He shared the details and information regarding the upcoming events of the Jazz and Arts Festival to be held across the country.

Dy PM Hilaire also shared his experience from the event and stated that “The return of the opening to Mindoo Philip Park was nostalgic and brought back memories of prior events at MPP. Then the fringe events on Saturday and Sunday in Babonneau, Desruisseaux and Soufriere offered unique experiences.”

In the end, he concluded that “We also launched the Arts in the City component on Sunday morning at the Central Library. The Arts component will transform the city centre into a creative hub for the week.” “I am looking forward to the upcoming events this week!” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
