Saudi Arabia authorities arrests 40-yr-old Israeli for calling Israel as “best country”

A 40-year-old national of Israel has been detained by the Saudi Arab police authorities after he praised and called Israel "the best nation in the world".

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: A 40-year-old national of Israel has been detained by the Saudi Arab police authorities after he praised and called Israel “the best nation in the world”. The remark was made by the Israeli citizens during an angry rant in a pharmacy, following which the citizen was arrested on Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

Sammi al-Obara is a resident of Bedouin city of Rahat in the southern Negev region. The family members of the 40-year-old have blamed Diabetes as the cause of his diatribe behaviour.

At the time of arrest, Al-Obara was on a pilgrimage to the kingdom, according to the reports of the local media.

One of the relatives of Al-Obara – Mussa Obara, in conversation with a media house, said, “He is suffering from diabetes, and sometimes, because of the disease, he cannot control the way he behaves”.

The Israeli national was not in a good state of mind when he entered the
pharmacy, and then became aggressive at the service which was being provided to him, after which the whole incident took place, the relative added.

The staff of the pharmacy informed and called the police authorities, who later arrested Al-Obara. A video of the incident also went viral all over the internet.

In the clip, the man can be heard demanding to see the doctor but is then sent to the pharmacy. “I swear to it, my brother, we live a good country. Israel is the best country in the world,” the man cited.

“The workers there didn’t like it, and they called the police, who arrested him,” the relative then added.

Saudi Arabia, for the present time, does not have bilateral ties with Israel, which can lower the chances of man’s release.

Al-Obara arrived last Friday in Saudi Arabia with his family and friends for a religious visit to Mecca.
