The futuristic city of Neom in the North-West of Saudi Arabia has now collaborated with the airlines. The carrier will begin operating international flights from the Neom Bay Airport as part of the agreement. The agreement will also observe the beginning of commercial flights from the airport.

Neom Bay Airport will observe its first regular international flights that will be launched in June, with weekly services to and from Dubai by Saudia.

Earlier, the nearest commercial airport to the megacity was Sharm El Sheikh, located in Egypt. Charter flights have been functioning to and from Neom Bay Airport since 2019, with flights of around two hours to Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia.

The weekly flights from Saudi to Dubai will be the first regular international commercial services to Dubai.

The director-general of Saudia, Ibrahim Al-Omar, stated, “This partnership is in line with Saudia’s aim to support Saudi Vision 2030 by boosting passenger traffic domestically and regionally, as well as expanding our links to global cities.”

As Neom continues to progress, demand for travel to Neom is only increasing, making it a natural addition to our list of destinations, he further stated.

Neom has also launched another project with OceanX to study about the depths of the Red Sea.

As per Neom’s head of tourism, the country is estimated to be home to millions of residents by 2030, and people are expected to start arriving in 2024.
