“May God have mercy on my brother Khalifa. Trust is heavy. We ask God for success, help and payment.”

Sheikh Khalifa was the ruler of Abu Dhabi and the second president of the UAE, who served since November 2004 until his death recently in May 2022. Khalifa was the eldest son of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was the first president of the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Khalifa was also the tallest ruler of the UAE.

His brother further mentioned Sheikh Khalifa as the heart of the family and the guardian of the nation. He said that he maintained enduring wisdom and generosity and was loved greatly and will be missed deeply, but his remarkable legacy will continue to live on forever. He wished for his eternal peace.

On the other hand, Sheikh Mohammed has acted as the nation’s de facto leader since Sheikh Khalifa had a stroke in 2014 and did not use to come out then because of his poor health. In his absence, Sheikh Mohammed has changed the small UAE, which has a population of 10 million, into one of the most significant Arab states.

The UAE is currently observing a 40-day long mourning period. World leaders have come to the UAE to pay their tribute to the late president of UAE, who was loved by everyone, while many others have been calling him to pay their respects. Meanwhile, they have also been giving him good wishes for being the third President of the UAE.
