Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque witnessed 1.26 million visitors in last six months

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has received around 1.26 million visitors from October 2021 till the end of March 2022.

The mosque has been a leading tourist destination for visitors to major international events conducted by the UAE over the period of the last six months.

The international events include the Fifa World Cup, Expo 2020 Dubai, the 5th edition of Umex and Simtex and World Space Week with many others.

Around 2000 high-level delegates visited the mosque, including ministers of foreign affairs, presidents of states, consuls, ambassadors and parliament speakers.

The mosque also held 51 visits from international and local academic institutions and 293 visitors representing various international media outlets, including television stations in Ecuador, Argentina, and Luxembourg.

The official television channel of Brazil hosted a live broadcast direct from the mosque, emphasizing its artistic aspects and its values of peace and coexistence.

The total number of people who came for prayers at the mosque during this time totalled around 228,000 people.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has maintained its pace with appropriate events by drafting thorough plans as per high standards to assure full readiness to receive the country’s international guests and provide them with a comprehensive and rich experience.

Field teams were formed to provide the best services to visitors, specialist action teams that coordinated the schedules of delegations, and part-time artistic tour guide teams. The mosque-sponsored 2,596 cultural tours in English, Arabic, Spanish and Korean, and the number of reservations by tourism firms reached 13,667, involving 193,501 visitors.

The flow of visitors to the mosque let promotes its message of coexistence, patience and calmness from the UAE to the rest of the world, based on the values of the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, which are being strengthened and promoted by the UAE’s leadership.
