Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Terrance Drew, participated in the sitting of the National Assembly yesterday, April 04, 2023. He used the sitting of Parliament to address several major aspects, challenges and solutions for the people of the nation.
According to the updates, Prime Minister and Minister of Financial Security of the Caribbean Island, Terrance Drew, has addressed the assembly regarding the safety and security of the citizens of the country. He cited that the prosperity of a nation depends on the safety and security of the people.
The High Command of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) is collaborating with St Kitts and Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) to provide a safe environment to its citizens.
During the assembly meeting, a Key Legislation was passed, which read as follows;
– KEY LEGISLATION PASSED TO BOLSTER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND STRENGTHEN THE BANKING SECTOR
Furthermore, PM Drew extended his remarks and pointed out that the government of St Kitts and Nevis is making efforts to collaborate even closer to arrange useful resources to enhance national security and manpower. The Ministry of PM Drew will not withhold any necessary resources or actions which are required to deal with the current situation, he added.
While expressing his thoughts, he also cited that St Kitts and Nevis government has not avoided any of the essential actions that are important to be performed along with the issues of national security. He further reached out to the citizens and urged them to work closely in association with the nation’s security forces to assist them in better results.
Moreover, during his address at the National Assembly Sitting, he also welcomed four special guests to the sitting and extended his hand-signed ‘good morning’ on occasion. Additionally, PM Terrance Drew welcomed the members, deaf and hard of hearing, who visited the assembly to celebrate the sign language introduction.
As per the reports, it was also confirmed that the introduction of sign language would be a regular feature of the national assembly along with the broadcast of House. On his part, National Assembly Speaker Lanein Blanchette extended his greetings to the special guests and cited that “efforts of inclusion are welcomed.”
