The United Arab Emirates is set to experience a spell of unstable weather in the coming days, with temperatures dipping to as low as 13°C and heavy rainfall forecast across several parts of the country.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued an advisory urging residents to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines as changing weather conditions may disrupt daily life.
According to the NCM, the wettest day of the week is expected to be Sunday, December 14, when heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely to affect multiple regions. Families planning outdoor activities have been advised to take extra precautions, as sudden downpours and gusty winds could pose risks, particularly in open areas and on the roads.
On Saturday, December 13, weather conditions are forecast to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with a chance of rainfall over islands, coastal regions, and some northern areas. Humidity levels are expected to rise during the night and into Sunday morning, especially over coastal and internal areas.
Temperatures will range between 13°C and 30°C, while southeasterly winds turning northwesterly may reach speeds of up to 40 km/h. Sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate, occasionally becoming rough in the Arabian Gulf.
Sunday is expected to bring the most significant impact, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and a higher probability of rainfall and thunderstorms. Temperatures are forecast to fall further, with a low of 13°C and a high of around 25°C. Winds may become fresh to strong at times, reaching speeds of up to 45 km/h and causing blowing dust.
Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf may turn rough at times, while the Oman Sea is expected to remain slight to moderate.
Unsettled weather is likely to continue into Monday, December 15, with partly cloudy to cloudy conditions and a continued chance of rainfall. Temperatures are expected to range between 12°C and 28°C, accompanied by southeasterly to northeasterly winds reaching up to 40 km/h.
Marine conditions may again fluctuate, with rough seas possible in the Arabian Gulf.
By Tuesday, December 16, heavy rains are forecast in several areas, with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 27°C. Winds are expected to remain strong, causing further blowing dust and reduced visibility in some locations.
Sea conditions are predicted to be moderate to rough in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Authorities have advised motorists to drive cautiously, avoid flooded areas, and stay updated through official weather bulletins. Residents are also encouraged to secure loose outdoor items and limit unnecessary travel during periods of severe weather.
