In a proactive response to recent rainwater leaks detected in select underground tanks across the nation, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) have swiftly taken measures to ensure public safety and well-being.

Addressing the issue, the ministries released a joint statement confirming the occurrence of rainwater leaks in specific underground tanks in limited areas of the country. 

 

However, they assured the public that teams of specialists were immediately deployed to inspect the quality of the affected water, clean and disinfect the tanks, and ensure that the water remains suitable for consumption.

Residents are strongly advised to refrain from walking or swimming in water bodies that may be contaminated, as well as avoiding stagnant water, which poses a risk of becoming breeding grounds for mosquitoes and other insects.
