Egypt's Cabinet Media Center has busted the rumours surfing on social media, stating that the country's health ministry has made available the COVID-19 vaccines in the pharmacies.

Cairo: Egypt’s Cabinet Media Center has busted the rumours surfing on social media, stating that the country’s health ministry has made available the COVID-19 vaccines in the pharmacies. The official statement by the Cabinet Media Center was issued on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Sources claimed that initially, the centre held a discussion on the matters with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population, during which the ministry stated that there are no grounds or basis for disseminating the COVID-19 vaccines via pharmacies.

“Several vaccines of the COVID-19 virus are being administered and made available to the Egyptian population at the COVID-19 vaccination centres designated to receive vaccines across the nation”, the statement of the center furthermore underscores.

The center further highlighted that there are numerous vaccination points at the metro, in the metro, train stations, commercial markets, and even in mobile medical convoys. The medical staff who is working here at these places have been instructed on how to vaccinate citizens safely and in a professional way.

A periodic inspection is also being conducted to keep an eye on the COVID-19 vaccination centres and mobile sites across the middle east nation.

Further making an appeal to the social media houses as well as social media users to examine accuracy and authenticity of news which is being telecasted or published and must communicate with concerned authorities to check prior publishing information which is not based on any facts.

As per the data, about 38.4% of the Egyptian population has received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and are partially inoculated/.
