The decision has been taken amid the decline in the daily COVID-19 cases and deaths.

“We are seeing a consistent decline in morbidity data. It is time to gradually open what we were the first in the world to close,” the prime minister of Israel asserted.

The new regulation will come in effect from March 1, 2022. The individuals arriving from the effective time period will have to present a negative RT-PCR Covid-19 test before boarding a flight to Israel and a second RT-PCR test upon their landing. Meanwhile, the citizens of Israel will only be required to take test on their arrival.

With this new travel rule in effect, the green pass validity is abolished. In addition, over 10,000 cases of the novel coronavirus were recorded on Sunday, Feburary 20, 2022.

This number is less than to that of January, when the Middle East nation usually recorded 85,000 infections per day.
