Egypt records new 1,989 COVID cases, 54 deaths, 1,239 recoveries

The middle east country recorded a total of 1,989 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, according to the data shared in the Ministry of Health in its report.

Cairo, Egypt: The middle east country recorded a total of 1,989 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, according to the data shared in the Ministry of Health in its report.

With these additional cases, the total confirmed toll has risen to 473,449 in Egypt. The data shared in the Ministry of Health further notes that fifty-four (54) COVID-19 patients in the Middle East country scummed to the novel coronavirus. The total death toll of the country stands at 23,857.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 1,239 COVID-19 patients who recovered from the viral disease and got discharged from the hospital facilities on Tuesday, February 22.

At present, the total COVID-19 recoveries in the Middle East nation has increased to 403,967.

COVID-19 vaccination rate of the country:

Till now, there are a total of 40,088,514 individuals who have taken at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines and are partially vaccinated, counting nearly around 39.2% of the total population.

On the contrary, there are a total of 29,465,603 individuals who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccine jabs and are now fully vaccinated against the virus. This number of individuals computes for about 28.8% of the total targeted eligible population of Egypt.

Booster shots are also being administered in the Middle East country. There are a total of 811, 171 persons who have taken their booster shots of the recommended COVID-19 vaccine, which calculates for about only 0.8% of the total Egyptian population.

Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna are the COVID-19 vaccines that are at present being administered at the vaccination centres across the country.
