This will also be the largest aqua park of the region, which is to be named “The Qiddiya Water Theme Park“.

Qiddiya’s Managing Director Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, ALEC’s CEO Kez Taylor and El Seif’s CEO Ahmed Al-Bassam penned down an agreement for the huge project. A ceremony took place to sign the agreement at Qiddiya Experience Center, which was followed by a ceremony for starting the construction work of the park.

The park will contain at least 22 rides and will be built on 252,000 square meters of land. Visitors will also be able to enjoy nine entry zones, which are named: the Entry Gate, Camel Rock, Dub Grotto, Wave Wadi, the Den, Viper Canyon, Arabian Peak, the Herding Grounds and Surf Lagoon.

Taylor, while making remarks on the project, said, “We have been interested in the Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, which is also a fantastic water park with wave pools, a lot of rides, as well as we have been involved with the SeaWorld Abu Dhabi project“.

“This would be about three times the size of the one at the Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi”, following the above statement, he added.

Speaking on the progress in the work, he added that the first stage construction work has already been commenced and will be finished soon, that too prior to getting into the next stage of the project.
