UAE records 347 new COVID cases

Additional 347 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded today (March 20, Sunday) in the United Arab Emirates.

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Additional 347 cases of the novel coronavirus have been recorded today (March 20, Sunday) in the United Arab Emirates, according to the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Protection. 

Along with these fresh infections, 1,011 COVID-19 related recoveries were also recorded by the healthcare facilities of UAE on Sunday. Although, no individual died of the virus in the Middle East country during the last 24 hours.

For the present time, the active cases toll stands at 27,207; meanwhile, the total number of confirmed COVID infections (since the beginning of the pandemic) rises to 887,729, as of March 20.  

The total recovery rate of the United Arab Emirates has increased to 858,217. Meanwhile, the Middle East country reported a total of 2,302 COVID-19 related fatalities till March 20, since the beginning of the pandemic. 

Vaccination rate of UAE: 

The COVID-19 vaccination coverage rate of the UAE is among the highest at the global level. 

Till Saturday, March 19, a total of 9,890,217 residents of the United Arab Emirates have taken their at least first dose of the COVID vaccines and are partially vaccinated now, as per data present. This number of individuals represents almost 100% of the targeted eligible population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 9,573,731 individuals in UAE who have taken their required number of the COVID-19 jabs and are in the category of fully vaccinated individuals, as of March 19, Saturday. This tally of citizens computes for nearly 96.8% of the total UAE eligible population.

There are 4,909,504 individuals who are fully immunized and as well have taken their booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccines, according to the data shared by the health ministry.  

One more vaccination centre in Dubai has been closed from March 17, 2022, as the population moves towards achieving its vaccination target.
