UAE confirms 240 fresh COVID cases today

In the United Arab Emirates, a total of additional 240 infections of the COVID-19 virus have been recorded today, Friday, April 8, 2022, according to the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Prevention. 

Abu Dhabi, UAE: In the United Arab Emirates, a total of additional 240 infections of the COVID-19 virus have been recorded today, Friday, April 8, 2022, according to the data shared by the Ministry of Health and Prevention. 

With this, the total number of the confirmed COVID-19 infections has increased to 893,412; meanwhile, the overall number of the active cases of the novel coronavirus has hiked to 18,280, which has seen a significant decline as compared to that of April 7.

These fresh, positive cases were confirmed from the additional 242,463 COVID-19 tests conducted by the health ministry in the last 24 hours as of today.  

There are a total of 559 patients with the COVID-19 who got recovered from the contagious viral illness and have been discharged from the hospital facilities, bringing the total number of the COVID recoveries in the United Arab Emirates to 872,830. 

Although no additional death has been recorded in the Middle East country during the last 24 hours, hence, the toll of the death rate continues to remain at 2,302, as per the official report’s data. 

Till now, there are a total of 9,890,305 individuals who have taken their at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines and are now partially vaccinated against the virus. This number of individuals represents around 100% of the total targeted eligible population of the country. 

At least 9,623,267 United Arab Emirates nationals have taken their required number of the COVID-19 jabs and are fully vaccinated against the virus, accounting for around 97.3% of the total targeted eligible population. 

Meanwhile, 5,032,187 individuals are the ones who are fully immunized and have taken their third dose (booster shots) of the COVID-19 vaccines. This number of individuals is representing around 50.9% of the total targeted eligible population.
