Buyers in Dubai were out in large numbers in malls to get bargains on the occasion of Eid this week. Eid Al Fitr is known as a significant day for buyers in the Arabian Gulf region hoping to get a bargain and make the most of the entertainment in the malls.

This year, Dubai witnessed a similar experience with crowds going to The Dubai Mall on Tuesday for festival shopping and to make the most of the three-day public holiday.

The Hamleys toy store was in spirits during Eid, where the staff was dancing and playing with young children as their parents were looking for gifts for them.

A staff member of Hamleys, Charry Castillo, said, “It has been so busy this Eid, much busier than last year.”

“Many people are coming in to buy gifts for their children because it’s Eid.”

“The best sellers for us are drones for the boys and Barbie dolls for the girls.”

Many people spent their Eid inside Dubai’s malls to avoid the heat outside.

For man shoppers, the best items were the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X consoles.

“It is what all the young people enjoy right now,” said a staff member at Geekay Games.

“We are really busy because it’s Eid, but honestly, it is always busy when talking about Dubai Mall.”

The store had unique Ramadan offers at the front of the shop, with the PS5 starting from just Dh2,418. Other PS5 boxes were more costly, depending on the accessories that came along with them.

According to the staff, the famous console was also the most sought-after item in Virgin Megastore.

The shoppers were given a choice to buy a console and controller for Dh2,100, which was precisely the same price as the Xbox Series X, which was sold out by Tuesday afternoon.

The best-selling toy on the online website was the Pegasus Kid’s My First Learning Bag activity books, which cost up to Dh31.

On Noon.com, the most favoured item in the video games category is the PS5, beginning from almost Dh2,400 for the digital-only model.
