The charming countryside of Dubai will be transformed into a tourist, cultural and environmental destination. Under this project, there will be the development of various areas, such as Al Lusayli, Al Faqa, Al Habab, Al Awir, Al Marmoom, and Margham, among others.

Prime Minister and Vice President of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, made this announcement after organising a Dubai Council meeting on Tuesday, 10 May.

The project will be supporting a new series of development schemes in the countryside to enhance the level of facilities and services there.

On his official Twitter handle, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid tweeted, “The purpose is to create new economic opportunities for residents of these areas.”

Sheikh Mohammed further added, “Providing a high quality of life for our residents is a priority.”

The council also endorsed a new vision for residential neighbourhoods for Emiratis. A plan will be presented within a month to form the first four neighbourhoods: Al Khawaneej, Al Barsha, Hatta and Al Mizhar.

There are even many more plans for development in Hatta, with Sheikh Mohammed announcing last August that six new projects are on their way in the city of Hatta.

Sheikh Mohammed, in a statement, said, that “Hatta is a model for small cities in the region. It has shifted within a short period of time into one of the most significant tourist destinations in the emirate because of its different lifestyle. The expansion and tourism projects in Hatta will have a significant impact on promoting national tourism and providing a distinctive tourism and cultural experience for tourists and the community.”

The two projects, ‘ Dubai Mountain Peak’ as well as ‘Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls’, were declared in early January, and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority are expected to implement them soon.
