The Museum of the Future is merging education and entertainment to motivate young visitors to engage in beneficial activities at Dubai’s iconic architectural marvel on its dedicated kids’ floor, along with giving them the building blocks to be the future heroes of the city.
The ‘Future Heroes’ floor is specially designed for children below the age of 10 and is a fantasy world for young children focusing on future skills, strived at motivating young minds to create new discoveries about themselves and the world with devoted hands-on play, reward-based challenges, as well as interactive activities.
As young visitors go in the dedicated kids’ zone, they are welcomed by the sign “Welcome future heroes. The future needs you”. From there onwards, staff at Future Heroes will help children select their own avatars which will best represent them, enabling them to partake in various interactive games and missions and be able to gather achievement badges and rewards for tasks accomplished.
As they finish the tasks within, kids can even wear capes so that they can get the feel of real-life superheroes and are also provided with wristbands that they utilise to collect digital badges during their time on the Future Heroes floor.
Future Heroes visualises what the best video games offer and then applies it in reality. Every child becomes a player while exploring activities and areas, as well as taking up challenges and collecting rewards.
Within an open world to play and explore, children are welcomed to participate in fun and educational activities centred on six future-proof skills, including creativity, curiosity, confidence, collaboration, communication and critical thinking.
A mix of open-ended play and immersed challenges which need problem-solving and partnership, the exhibition’s three main phases are Imagine, Design and Build. These elements provide children with the chance to play and learn via these fun activities that motivate communication, collaboration and creativity.
