Indian actor Kamal Haasan awarded with UAE Golden Visa

An Indian actor with more than 60 years of a film career, Kamal Haasan has been awarded with the United Arab Emirate's highly-coveted Golden Visa.

An Indian actor with more than 60 years of a film career, Kamal Haasan has been awarded with the United Arab Emirate’s highly-coveted Golden Visa.

He declared that he got the via through a tweet, where he also thanked UAE officials for a tour of the offices of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

He got this prestigious honour from the Director General of GDRFA, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, who also gave him a tour of its offices in Dubai.

Haasan is the recent celebrity in a long line of famous personalities from different countries around the world to get this accolade. The expansive list also includes well-known names such as KS Chitra, Mohanlal, Shah Rukh Khan, Boney Kapoor, and Dubai-based veteran businessmen-philanthropists, Bharat J Mehra, MA Yusuff Ali, nurses, doctors and many academics.

Kamal Haasan wrote in a tweet that “thanks to Dubai Film and TV Commission for supporting talents and creative individuals”.

The South Indian actor is presently riding on the success of his recent film Vikram released on June 3, 2022.

The Golden visa of the UAE is a long-term residence visa which allows foreign talents to reside and work or study in the Emirates while enjoying exclusive benefits.

Kamal Haasan is an Indian actor, dancer, director, writer, playback singer, lyricist, choreographer, makeup artist, screenwriter and politician who works primarily in Tamil cinema. He has acted in Tamil films but has also worked in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and Bengali movies.

Haasan also said that he is honoured to receive the Golden Visa from the United Arab Emirates and posted a picture of himself with the UAE officials.
