An announcement was made by issuing the circular among members of society by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.

The authority today added that work would resume on Monday, October 10.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources had earlier announced that the nation would observe paid public holiday on October 8 due to the Birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

The authority added that only the private sector would remain closed on Saturday, and the work would be continued on Monday.

In several Islamic countries, including all the Gulf countries, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad is honoured on the third month of the Islamic calendar, which is 12 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1444.

The authority cleared that this does not call for a long weekend, but it will be a relief for those who work on Saturdays every week.

On the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, this public holiday will be observed by two more, which will round off the list of official leaves for the year 2022.

The staying two public breaks will be in recognition of UAE Nation day and the Commemoration day.

However, these dates fall on December 1, 2 and 3, with December 4 being a Sunday, which is the first week of December. This would translate into the last four-day weekend of the year.

Public sectors all over the nation will remain open, and the times of the Public organisations will remain the same on Saturday, October 8 2022, Saturday.
