The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan followed the directives; the aid packages were meant for Ukrainian civilians impacted by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine due to war with Russia.

Minister of State for International Cooperation of UAE Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy in a statement, said that the condition of extra aid stems from Sheikh Mohamed’s confidence in the significance of solidarity in times of war and battle and the UAE’s resumed efforts to mitigate the humanitarian impact of the Ukraine crisis.

She also stressed that the UAE had provided similar assistance in recent months to Ukrainian civilians, in addition to sending planes carrying aid to Ukrainian refugees in Poland and Moldova in response to an urgent appeal by the United Nations.

The UAE has been a supporter of Ukraine till now, and they have already sent monetary and financial help to Ukraine citizens who were taking shelter in Bulgaria and Poland towards the start of the crisis.

According to the United Nations (UN) repo, around eight million people fled Ukraine and were scattered all around Europe.

UAE’s leader Sheikh Mohamed has also stepped forward to help Ukrainian civilians who are affected by the constant fighting during a call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Shiekh Mohamed clarified that he would be offering “humanitarian and economic assistance to mitigate the impact of the conflict with Russia”.

Zelensky also took to Twitter on Monday to thank UAE for their constant support.
