Political emergence led by youth federation in Gilgit-Baltistan gives hope :REPORTS

As per the information, the event also hosted a panel discussion set by the representatives of the different student organizations across the regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

The two departments took the oath at the event, such as the Eighth cabinet of the National Students Federation Gilgit-Baltistan Sindh zone and the first cabinet of the National Workers Front Sindh zone.

During the event, Azhar Uddin & Basharat Hussain Mehdvi were elected as national fronts’ presidentsy. Ghazala Nazir and Ali Ahmed Jan were selected as representatives to the fronts’ central executive committee.

As per the sources, Anayat Baig, at the post of Central Organizer of National Workers Front Gilgit-Baltistan, took oath from the newly elected cabinets. 

On his part, Baig explained to the audience the construction, structure, essence and plan of the national fronts.

Anayat Baig added that the region’s youth is the only alternative left to eliminate colonial oppression in the areas of Gilgit and Baltistan. The third political alternative consisting of youth leadership has now become inevitable.

Furthermore, Central Organizer Baig confirmed that he also discussed the national fronts’ ideology of “progressive patriotism” in detail.

Referring to the analytical paper written by the National Fronts, he said that the youth should contribute to constructing this new revolutionary force by being part of the fronts.

Moreover, the elected presidents of the cabinet addressed and stated in their commitment that organizations will face the front line of the struggle for the basic human rights of the residents of Gilgit and Baltistan. 

He further said that the youth were looking for a new political alternative and had found an excellent platform in the form of these national fronts.

The reports conveyed that the flag of the fronts was also formally unveiled in the ceremony. The flag consisting of black, red and blue colours with a white Polaris star in the centre, was unveiled at a formal ceremony, and a briefing was given on the flag’s colours, components and their meaning and philosophy.

The representative personals of various students organizations from GB & AJK, including Balawaristan National Students Organization, Karakoram Students Organization, Jammu Kashmir Students Liberation Front, Baltistan Students Federation, All Baltistan Moment and others, discussed the political, social and economic future of Gilgit Baltistan in a panel discussion.

At the unveiling ceremony, the speakers appreciated the formation and consistent struggle of the NSF-GB and congratulated the newly elected cabinets of NSF & NWF. 

The speakers said there is a need to bridge the gaps in the political struggle of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir through credible political measures.

Following the end, the speakers strongly condemned and criticized the nefarious tries to grab the lands of the local population and acquire the resources in the name of the Khalsa Sarkar in Gilgit-Baltistan and warned the government that the results of such oppressive measures could not be better in any case for anyone.

In the end, the authorities concluded that the land and resources of Gilgit-Baltistan will have to be recognized sooner or later as the right of the indigenous people. 

The speakers invited the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan living in different cities of Pakistan to think about redressing the deprivations of the region along with their education and employment.
