Egypt, Middle East: The Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology of the Republic of Egypt has recently launched a training programme providing training to those dealing with tourists visiting the Governorate of Luxor. 

The initiative was introduced to improve the human element dealing with the Egyptians and other visitors staying in Luxor.

As per the information, it was noted that the training programme is aimed at all tourist handlers, boat owners, bazaar owners, taxi drivers, hotels, tourist facilities and tourism companies, with the aim of improving the tourism experience.

In addition, the training programme was launched in cooperation with the Governorate, the Library of Luxor, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels of Luxor University and a number of different parties in the governorate.

The program started with the training of boat owners as the first phase, where 350 boat owners were targeted, then the training of both sailboat owners, motorboat owners, taxi owners and bazaar owners.

Following this, the programme will aim to train employees in hotels and tourist companies to complete the movement of all employees and those dealing with Tourists in Luxor province.

For her part, Saha Bahjat, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism and Archaeology for Training Affairs, explained that this program aims to raise the level of handling tourists by all classes dealing with it.

Furthermore, she noted while reflecting on the tourism experience that the ministry seeks to improve, which relies on one of its ribs on the human being interacting With the tourist since he is an integral part of the experience.

Moreover, Professor Nema Atta, General Manager of the Ministry of Tourism and Archaeology Office in Luxor, pointed out that the training included awareness of the importance of tourism for national income, cleanliness, good appearance, and tourist awareness.

The programme will also focus on dealing with tourists, honesty and planning a uniform price for activity. “It included an educational awareness section on traffic and facilities management in Luxor, ensuring compliance with licensing and saving Waiting places and determining a value for fare, operation, and appearance of the leader of Hantrum and the general figure of Hantrum.”

Dr Mohamed Hassani, Director General of the Luxor Library, added that the Luxor Library was honoured to host these training as part of its community responsibility and that it will not spare any effort to participate in these activities.
