Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi Police Directorate of Traffic and Patrol has enhanced the awareness of drivers to ensure the safety of their vehicle tires in the field in cooperation with partners in the “Safe Summer” campaign.
As per the update, it is the third quarterly campaign of the Ministry of Interior under the slogan “Your vehicle is your safety” to reinforce the principles of traffic culture to enable safe movement using modern traffic systems.
The update by the Abu Dhabi Police also informed the general that the campaign includes tire checkpoints, traffic awareness workshops, and a mini exhibition in coordination with a number of shopping centres in Abu Dhabi.
Additionally, it mentioned that in cooperation with Al Fahim Michelin Cars, field tours focused on the importance of vehicle tire safety checks to enhance driver safety and the Emirates’ driving education tips and guidance for drivers on vehicle and tyre safety.
As per the social media update, to reduce accidents, the Traffic Accident Association raised awareness of the importance of constantly changing vehicle tyres, which enhances efforts to reduce traffic accidents and their causes.
Major Mahmoud Youssef Al-Balushi, Directorate of Traffic and Patrols in Annaba, clarified that the campaign aims to raise awareness of the entire community about the dangers of traffic accidents, urges them to follow instructions and vehicle safety guidelines and perform maintenance of tyres to protect lives and property and preserve the value of life, and achieve safe driving to promote traffic safety.
He urged the drivers to take preventive measures for vehicles and trucks and to check the tires to ensure their safety and replace them in case they expire or have any cracks or swelling. He also asked to use good brands and meet the specifications to avoid traffic accidents caused by their explosion, signalling that the campaign offers tips for drivers.
He also emphasised the necessity for important information to solve vehicle tires, how to behave in case of a tire burst, to provide safety equipment in the vehicle, and to avoid leaving lighters, perfumes, batteries, energy storage devices, compression packets, hand sanitisers and gas cylinders in the vehicle, especially with temperatures rising.
