The long wait for Namira Salim is finally over. She will go sub-orbital on virgin galactic flight. The ticket for this flight she bought almost 17 years ago.
The space trip is not only the self-realisation of her lifelong dream, but it will also highlight space tourism, among others. Her trip to space will also draw the attention of the public towards space tourism.
While talking with the media, she seemed to be relaxed and narrated her preparation for this adventurous trip before the flight. During her interaction with media, she becomes emotional when she shares a name of source of inspiration, which inspired her to pursue her dream of exploring the sky.
He told the media that it was actually her late father, a former officer with the Pakistan army, who always inspired her to scale the heights of success. She dedicated her flight to her late father. As per her, it was her father who first time showed me the pole star. he taught me about constellations of the night sky and how these are important for navigational purposes.

She also recalled her time spent in Pakistan looking at the sky and her journey to permanently settle in the United Arab Emirates.
In the year 2006, she became the first UAE woman to purchase ticket for a suborbital flight ticket from Sir Richard Branson’s space venture.
She had paid $200,0000, which is less than half of the current price of 450,000 for a seat on a virgin galactic flight.
She said that during this long wait for the space trip, she kept herself busy and went to explore the North and South Poles.
Notably, she is the first Asian and first Pakistani woman to skydive over Mount Everest.
In Pakistan, she was recognised by the Pakistan govt to as the first Pakistan astronaut.
In Pakistan, she also served as honourary ambassador of tourism for Pakistan in 2007.
On their way, the passengers of the spacecraft will experience up to four times the force of Earth’s gravity, called 4G.
Namira said it would be a wonderful experience and vowed that she would share more details after her return from the trip.
