Qatar: “Watan Exercise-2023” is all set to begin on 6th November

The “ Watan Exercise 2023 “will be held from the 6th to the 8th of November in Qatar. The exercise will see the participation of the Military and civilian Authorities. The objective of the exercise is to check the preparedness of armed and civilian authorities in case of emergency.

It is to be specifically added that the exercise is being held under the Patronage of the Shiekh Khalifa Bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani. He is the minister of interior affairs and also hold the position of the commander of the Internal security force(Lekhwiya).

As noted earlier, the main objective of holding the exercise is just to check the preparation of militaries and civilian authorities that are responsible for organizing the major sports events and activities.

Exercise will also assess the speed of quickness and response towards various incidents and activate the basic mechanisms of command, control, and cooperation. Mutual cooperation in all military and civilian agencies is also necessary for effective response in case of eruption of any major tragic situation.

Moreover, the Watan exercise 2023 will also include tabletop and field-based exercises that will enhance technical skills for sudden  and emergency  situations. The participants will become familiar with many new capabilities and techniques that they can use in case of emergencies.

Some of the major emergencies include natural calamities, earthquakes, tsunamis, thunderstorms, hailstorms, etc. Emergencies also include terror activities and other anti-social activities that sometimes cause a major humanitarian crisis. Notably, in previous years, the Watan exercise had resulted in many positive income and meaningful lessons.

The lessons learnt from those exercises proved benificial at the time of the FIFA World Cup, which was held in Qatar in the year 2022. Moreover Practice will provide all the participants an opportunity to hone their existing skills. The interaction among the different organs of armed and civil authorities will further scale up  the expertise of participants.
