Turkey’s President addresses 10th Summit of the Organisation of Turkic States

Astana: On Friday, the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, addressed the 10th summit of the Organisation of Turkic states. This was the first day of the summit. The summit was held in the Astana capital city of Kazakhstan.

President, in his address, stated that “we will make every effort for the peace, prosperity, and security of the Turkish world in future.” The summit was hosted by Kassym-jomart K. Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, at Akorda’s presidential Palace. This year’s Summit has the theme “Turk Time”.

President also said that we are working to convert this time as the “Century of Turkic world”. We will work closely with each other to make the upcoming time Turk time,” the President added.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan further stressed the need for joint cooperation among all the members of the organisation of Turkic states. We, as members of this organisations, should guide each other to fulfil the vision of the powerful Turkish world. He also remembered the 100th anniversary of Turkey. So to make it more memorable, we encourage all the members for consistent efforts in developing.

Before the beginning of the summit, there waa a meetings of the foreign minister of the council. In this meeting, the top diplomat of Kazakhstan expressed deep concerns over the prevailing situation in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip.

A top diplomat said, “Kazakhstan is very concerned over the Israel-Hamas conflict in middle east. We encourage the international community to bring an immediate ceasefire, and opening of the Humanitarian passages for the peoples of Gaza is the top priority of the Kazakhstan government.”

It is worth mentioning that the chairmanship of OTS(Organisation of Turkish States) will be passed to Uzbekistan for next year. Almost all the leaders of the organisation resolved to extend cooperation to make the organisation more effective and strong.
