Dubai – In a visionary move aimed at transforming urban transportation and sustainability, a Dubai-based urban planning and development firm has unveiled plans for the ‘Dubai Green Spine’, a groundbreaking tram project stretching 64 kilometers along Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road (E311).
URB, the firm behind the concept, envisions the Green Spine as a lush corridor adorned with 1 million trees and equipped with innovative features such as urban farms, gardens, and solar-powered infrastructure.

Elevated parks within the corridor will feature recreational spaces, playgrounds, fitness areas, and community gardens, fostering a holistic approach to community engagement and well-being.
URB’s innovative initiatives extend beyond the Green Spine, encompassing visionary projects like ‘Dubai Mangroves‘, aimed at planting over 100 million mangrove trees, and ‘The Loop’, a climate-controlled cycle highway spanning 93 kilometers around Dubai.
These projects, though primarily in the research and development phase, signal Dubai’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
