Dominica: PM Skerrit, congrats students on beginning of new session

Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister Dominica extended best wishes to students at the beginning of new academic session 2024-25.

Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica extended greetings to the students on Monday last week. The students returned to school at the beginning of a new academic session 2024-25.

PM Skerrit highlighted the role of hard work in student life and underlined that hard-working students can lead the nation to new heights in the future. While motivating the students, PM Skerrit encouraged them to overcome all obstacles with hard work.

PM Skerrit took to his social media handles to convey his message to students. On his official Facebook pages the PM stated “Greetings, I am happy to extend my best wishes to our students who are entering in a new academic session this week.”

He further stated “I wish students to learn with dedication and determination so they can secure their bright future. Have a fantastic school year, everyone! God bless.” At the same time PM also praised the role of teachers, parents, and Guadirian in shaping the better lives of students. He prayed for the patience, strength and support of the teachers, parents, guardians who are responsible for a strong academic foundation of students.

It is worth noting that every year before the beginning of a new academic session many events and celebrations are held across the country. Events are held in almost all constituencies of Dominica as well.

The minister of housing  Melissa Skerrit, also hosted an impressive event under the theme “Back to School.” The event was attended by a large number of students who celebrated the beginning of a new academic year. The Minister also provides financial support to needy students through her foundation.

Meanwhile social media users reacting to PM Skerrit’s post also extended best wishes to students. A Facebook user Madonese Douglas, commented “May God’s divine guidance and protection be over pupils, teachers, parents, and guardians. May provisions be supplied to meet their needs, Lord.”
