Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, congratulated Keir Starmer. Keir Starmer of the Labour Party has been elected as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after a landslide victory against the ruling conservative party led by Rishi Sunak.
PM Skerrit also expressed hopes that the bilateral relation will see a new dimension under the visionary leadership of new Prime Minister Keir Starmer of the UK.
PM while taking to his social media handles stated “It is great to see the resounding victory of the Keir Starmer and his labour party in the general election. We are hopeful for new beginning of the bilateral relation between both countries in years ahead.”
The PM also added “On behalf of the citizens of Dominica I would like to extend the best wishes to the new PM for a successful tenure .” At the same time PM Skerrit also reiterates his commitment to strengthen the diplomatic relation . Moreover he said that both government will work in collaboration to lead the nations toward new heights of growth and development.
On the other hand the social media user while reacting to the PM’s facebook post also extended their best wishes to new Prime Minister Keir Starmer of UK. A Facebook user Mava Harry commented that “Congratulations to you sir Starmer, and to the labour party in the UK , Leadership is everything.I pray God give you the wisdom and direction to become a great leader.”
It is worth mentioning that the election result have ended the forty year rule of the conservative party with Rishi Sunak as Prime Minister. The result also showd the clean sweep manadate in favour of the labour party and Keir Starmer emernegd as the string leader to run the government.
As per the election data our of total 650 seats, conservative bagged 412 agains the 121 secured by the outgoing conservative party’s candidates, whereas rest of seats won by candiaite belong to other smallest party.
As the result have reduced to Conservative party to just 121 this is first time when party have achive such low number of seats in its almost two century old history.
