Dubai Police have recorded a significant improvement in their emergency response performance, achieving an average response time of 5.8 minutes during the first ten months of 2025.
Authorities said the latest figures mark a clear advancement from 6.2 minutes in 2024 and 6.8 minutes in 2023, underscoring sustained efforts to strengthen operational efficiency.
Officials said the performance exceeded their strategic target of 6.6 minutes, demonstrating enhanced readiness across the emirate’s specialised rescue units. Dubai Police attributed the improvement to a combination of preparedness, rapid field deployment, and the use of advanced rescue tools.
“This reflects a high level of preparedness, precise field response, and outstanding operational efficiency,” the force said in a statement issued on Friday. The Dubai Police General Department of Transport and Rescue remains at the centre of these improvements.
Equipped with a heavy rescue truck, specialised marine assets, and support from the Dubai Police Air Wing, the department handles a wide range of emergency situations, from road accidents to complex rescue missions on land and at sea.
Lt-Gen Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, praised the rescue teams for serving as “the first line of defence in protecting lives and property.”
He confirmed that between January and October this year, the department completed more than 5,200 rescue and salvage missions. These included traffic accidents, building fires, and rescue operations involving individuals trapped inside vehicles, homes, and elevators.
According to Al Marri, continuous investment in training, technology, and equipment is essential for maintaining rapid response capabilities. “We must continue to invest in developing their human and technological capabilities and strengthening their ability to deal with growing challenges efficiently and professionally,” he said.
He emphasised that effective incident response not only protects lives but also mitigates the wider impact of emergencies, particularly in a fast-growing city with expanding infrastructure and increasing mobility demands.
Al Marri also recently reviewed the readiness of rescue vehicles, inflatable boats, and other modern equipment used by both marine and land rescue units. He highlighted the importance of ensuring all teams remain fully prepared to handle emergencies across diverse terrains, from coastal areas to mountainous zones.
Dubai Police said they will continue upgrading their systems and enhancing coordination between units to maintain fast, reliable responses. The force has prioritised technology-driven solutions, including real-time dispatch systems and data-supported planning, to reduce delays and streamline operations.
Residents have frequently credited Dubai Police for their quick reaction times in emergencies, which often make a critical difference in preventing loss of life. As the emirate continues to expand, authorities said maintaining such high standards will remain a priority.
