Egypt, Middle East: The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat has recently welcomed Mr Li Qun, the head of the Chinese National Archaeology Authority and the deputy minister of culture and tourism of China, and the accompanying delegation, on the margin of their current visit to Egypt.
As per the updates, the visit of the Chinese delegation was commemorated as part of their official visits. Dr Misra Abdullah, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Museum of Archaeology, Egypt, welcomed them and accompanied them on tour inside the different exhibition halls in the museum.
He also explained to them the history of the museum’s treasures and the scenario of its exhibition, which highlights the creations of Egyptian civilization through its different eras. On his part, China’s deputy minister of culture and tourism expressed his happiness by visiting the museum, describing it as a highlight of ancient Egypt’s history and civilization.
In a connected context, the museum received Mr Dato Siri Van Rosdi Wan Ismail, Prime Minister of Pahang State, the third largest Malaysian state, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Ambassador Zamani Ismail, the Malaysian Ambassador to Cairo.
In their reception, Mrs Fayrouz Fekri, Vice President of the Museum’s Board of Management and Employment, also accompanied them on tour inside the museum. During the tour, she gave an explanation about the history of the museum’s creation, including unique artefacts that tell the different backgrounds of Egyptian civilization and the unique services and activities that the museum offers to its visitors.
The Vice President of the Museum also gifted them a catalogue of royal mummies, icons of museum exhibitions. In his regard, the Prime Minister of Pahang Province, Malaysia, expressed his heartfelt thanks and gratitude for this valuable gift.Â
He also emphasized and expressed his happiness to visit the museum and its role as a museum cultural centre that receives many visitors to tell the history of the ancient Egyptian civilization.
These visits come in the context of the attention and international status of the museum, where it has been a major purpose of the visits that come to Cairo, being one of the world’s important tourist destinations that promote the product of cultural tourism, said the reports.
