United Arab Emirates: The organization of Expo City Dubai has invited the people of the United Arab Emirates to take part in the Wings for Life World Run to be held on (Sunday) May 7, 2023, at 3 pm. The sporting event will cover a 14-kilometre-long running track passing from different routes across the cities of the United Arab Emirates.
According to the shared updates, the Wings for Life World Run will be organized under the theme of ‘Humanitarian Mission’ with a motive to dedicate the event to finding the cure for injuries related to the spinal cord and other health issues. The officials also stated that the race would come to an end after the athletes realized a virtual race car until it catches the runners.
The Dubai Expo authorities took it to its official social media handle to invite the people of the country to the sporting event. They noted, “Join thousands of people from around the world on May 7 at the Wings for Life World Run. There is no finish line; run as fast as you can until you realize the race car.”
Furthermore, the race will host runners and athletes from different categories, including athletes on wheelchairs as well, said the officials. It was also confirmed that there would be no finish line to end the race, but the athletes will be instructed to run side by side and run ahead of the virtual catcher car.
While inviting the people and athletes of the United Arab Emirates to participate in the race, the authorities also shared the instructions to register for the event.
The athletes were advised to download the official app of Wings for Life World Run to join people around the world in the event dedicated to a humane cause.
Since the sporting event will be held to support a medical cause, 100% of the donations, fees or funds collected from the participants and other parties will be handed over to the research projects dedicated to spinal cord diseases.
Moreover, the routes of the race will go past the iconic pavilions and architecture of the Expo City Dubai, made under the theme of Mobility, Sustainability and Opportunity.
The runners will further pass the focal point of the site at Al Wasl, following a refreshing station. The athletes will be provided with refreshments and water facilities during their run, added reports.
