Punjab, India: Punjab School Education Department (PSED) is set to introduce inspiring and motivating life stories of the four legendary Indian sportspeople in the textbooks of Physical Education to encourage the students to follow their passion for sports.

The authorities of PSED are planning to include the life stories of legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh, three-time hockey Olympic champion Balbir Singh Sr, and India’s first Arjuna Awardee and Olympian athlete Gurbachan Singh Randhawa along with Asian champion in boxing Kaur Singh.

All the selected athletes will be featured in the syllabus for 9 and 10 classes, which will be a great initiative that will also help the students get inspired and increase their knowledge about sports and fitness. The players have bought pride to the nation through their exceptional sports careers by making a mark for themselves.

The students will also learn about the lives of these great sportsmen as it will serve as the source of deep inspiration for them in order to follow and realize their dreams and grit. 

The students will learn essential life skills and traits that should be followed, such as hard work, perseverance, discipline, and dedication in their early life.

This initiative will further add an edge to providing valuable lessons from their lives, and publishing such stories in the children’s textbooks is a perfect way to do that, reported Khalsa Vox. 

The land of Punjab is known as the land of rich values and culture along with rich sporting history.

It is an essential and crucial step by the PSED to inspire and preserve the life stories of such great sports personalities for future generations.

The state is not only recognizing the valuable contributions of the legendary sportspeople by putting their biographies in textbooks but also inspiring the next generations to follow in their footsteps, said reports.
