Jordan: The Directorate of Public Security launched the technology of rebuilding major traffic accidents to provide data contributing to reducing traffic accidents on March 14, 2023. The authority shared the update regarding the same through social media platforms.
As per the official update, the Chief of the Traffic Investigation Division in Traffic Management confirmed that the Directorate of Public Security of Jordan had updated a technology launched in traffic management to rebuild major traffic accidents and provide technical imaging of the causes of accidents and their accompanying circumstances by providing comprehensive data that can be used to limit accidents by addressing their causes.
According to a recent report to Public Security Radio, the application of the traffic accident reconstruction technology came in response to the supreme ownership directions of raising road safety and promoting a safe traffic environment, which was implemented by the Directorate of Public Security, Major General Obaidullah Al-Maaitah, especially regarding the introduction of modern technology to the public security system.
Furthermore, the department has outlined that the application of this technology will, for the time being, focus on accidents resulting in serious damage to lives and property and in areas that have repeatedly witnessed accidents by a team supervising the study of these mishaps from the Traffic Administration.
He pointed out that this technology depends on the use of a device (PC CRASH) used in a number of developed countries in the field of traffic accidents investigation, which is a technical device that technically redraws accidents without human intervention, depending on advanced software that releases 2 million laser points per second, to collect information and data tremendous from the scene to film and study.
While concluding, the department stated that Blacksmith alerts that what distinguishes this device, which has recently entered service, is that it performs a comprehensive high-precision scanning and 360-degree imaging of the accident site, vehicles and damage points as well as ground road markings and tire markings as well as reading all necessary measurements for investigation, which are automatically saved by the system to be referred to when requested.
