Saint Lucia: Min. of Youth Development and Sports hosts “Women Empowerment Seminar “

The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of the Caribbean Nation Saint Lucia hosted a seminar on Women’s Empowerment. Ministery holds this seminar in collaboration with an NGO(Non-Government Organisation), “R.v Alliance”.

On this significant occasion, almost 80 woman with unique achievements from different backgrounds gets together. These women belong to areas of Anse La Raye and Roseau Valley.

There was a panel discussion among the young ladies. It is to be  specifically mentioned that Non profit organisation is located at Roseau, Castries. It usually organises seminars and conferences for women’s empowerment.

Ministry of Youth Development and Sports also took to their social media page and stated, “The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports in collaboration with the Roseau Valley Alliance R.v. Alliance hosted a Women’s Empowerment Seminar targetting women from the communities of Anse La Raye and Roseau Valley. The seminar brought together over 80 women. These women were engaged in the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, financial freedom and mental health. There was also a panel discussion where the young ladies had a fruitful discussion in conversations on personal growth.”

 

Notably these women have done a commendable job in their specific fields. Some have led the fight against Domestic violence as women are the most vulnerable section of society to Incidents of Domestic Violence. Similarly some were those who worked to uplift the financial condition of Women. With their Dedicated effort they have made many women financially independent. The women who work to raise awareness of mental health were also part of the seminar.

Meanwhile during the panel discussion key speakers stressed to make an effort to make the life of Women more safe and more comfortable in their country and region. They also appreciated the Ruling Government of Saint Lucia for many women-oriented policies and laws.

At the same time Key speakers urged the Government to take the initiative to make efforts to enhance women’s participation in decision-making by ensuring their involvement in the politics of the country.
